Mike Trout may not lead the majors in WAR this year

Heading to the DL for the first time in his career. He has a torn thumb ligament that may require surgery and an extended absence. Sucks to see since some kind of way he seemed to be better than ever this year.
He was at .337/.461./.742 with 16 HRs and 10 SBs. He had an insane 217 wRC+ and 3.6 WAR in 47 games.

Who cares WAR is the most idiotic stat there is. Do you know that you can lead the league in hitting, home runs, RBI, runs, hits, ops and slugging and still not be in the top 20 in WAR? Its the most useless stat ever created.

I believe a week ago Trout and Freeman were the top 2 players in War. Now both are gonna be out for a while.

If you lead the league in all of those categories, then you are virtually guaranteed to lead the league in WAR (or be damn close to the top) unless you are the WOAT fielder.
