There's no way that homerun in Tampa wasnt at least 450 - it's a deep centerfield and you don't see many no doubters hit to that part of that park

I happened to be 1 of the 1,250 people at that game. I was standing in right center field. When he hit the ball it looked like a rocket taking off. It would have been awesome to see where that thing landed

In regards to Sano AL ROY, I think Correa is a shoe in. However, Brian Dozier needs some love as AL MVP. Won't win obviously, but hopefully gets a few votes in there. Dude pretty much put that team on his back

That may be the best contact I've ever heard off the bat.

I hope Dozier could at least get third. He is so underrated it is absurd.

1. Donaldson
2. Trout
3. Dozier

He is hitting .244 with a sub .800 OPS. He is 17th in the AL in WAR (on Fangraphs, actually 42nd on ESPN). Please stop.

Yeah, I don't get all this Dozier for MVP talk. He is a good, underrated player, but he isn't a top 10 MVP candidate. He hasn't even been the best 2B in the AL.

I would rather have Dozier over Kipnis.

Going forward, I could seeing it being close, but I don't see how Dozier's 2015 is better than Kipnis'. A lot more power, but that's it. Kipnis has a 73 point OBP lead.

Kipnis wRC+ 138, 5.1 fWAR
Dozier wRC+ 116, 3.4 fWAR

He's actually 7th in WAR for AL 2B on ESPN.

Behind Kinsler, Kipnis, Forsythe, Altuve, Cano, and Holt.

Cano is back to being Cano in the second half .343/.406/.544.

Dozier is a nice player but talk about him as an MVP candidate is insane

I trust Dozier going forward because of his better track record of health. Will Dozier win the MVP? Absolutely not, but he is one of my favorite players to watch and one of the best players in baseball.

The top three candidates should be Donaldson, Trout, and Machado. Donaldson should win in a landslide. After that, there is a drop-off in the candidates.

I hate just looking at WAR when comparing players since different sites calculate it differently.

I think the big drop-off is after Donaldson and Trout. I think Donaldson is the MVP, but it is still close enough where a big month from Trout could catch him. For third, I could agrue for Cain, Sale or Keuchel over Machado.

I think the wrist is going to prevent Trout from going nuts.

I know I overrate Dozier, but he is just awesome to watch. All of my favorite non-Cubs are having great years: Donaldson, Dozier, and Arenado.

Dozier is definitely a solid player. The Twins have a great foundation and I think they'll be contending in the central for a while. I was looking at one of their top prospects lists a couple days ago that was from the beginning of the year and it was pretty eye opening.

Very possible. He hasn't hit for any power since then.

They should have brought up Berrios.

Dozier
Buxton
Sano
Jose Berrios
Plouffe
Nick Gordon

Not bad

Second half Trout:

179 PA
.265/.380/.490
7 HR
16 R
19 RBI
1/4 SB yikes
.376 wOBA
147 wRC+
.65 BB/K

That's really good, but not Mike Trout good. Here is Donaldson's second half:

192 PA
.329/.414/.714
15 HR
39 R
51 RBI
2/2 SB
.454 wOBA
202 wRC+
.71 BB/K

Also, Donaldson has the media behind him and leads the league in multiple conventional categories. It take a trainwreck from Donaldson and a 2.5 WAR month from Trout and that still may not do it.

I'm with you on all that, but Trout still has a slightly better batting line on the year (at worst a push), especially if you factor in home park.

I think Donaldson will win (and should) as of now, I just don't think it should be a landslide.
