Say they win out & Clemson, Bama, ND get the other three spots.

Each has one bad loss
Mich St would have extra conference championship game
OU has eye test & name brand

If both won out, I'd go both over ND

Both should be in over Notre Dame.

ND wins and they are in period. They have a strong SOS and their only loss would be a narrow margin to the undefeated #1 team. Plus they are Notre Dame.

undefeated Big 10 conference champ Iowa would be easy. It'd be: Clemson Bama Iowa ND

They have a strong average SOS, but they have no marquis wins.

Both teams deserve to make it in over Notre Dame if they win their conference.

Oohhh wow. They've really been put through the ringer this year.

Let's look past numbers on a spead sheet for once and look at context.

Notre Dame would get in over OU based on their blowout of Texas and OU's loss to Texas.

It's a moot point because OU will be beaten by OSU.

Is this your first year watching college football?

Rankings in college football mean frick all. Navy's schedule is a joke. The CFB committee isn't going to even talk about Navy as a reason to put Notre Dame in the playoff.

Correct.

Also Stanford will be a top 10 win at the time, last game of the season

Not in this scenario that assumes they both win out
