Michigan and Jim Harbaugh if they fail to win 11 games, is it a failure?

Seems to be one of the most hyped teams in CFB this upcoming season
ESPN has them #3
Athlon Sports has them #5
Bleacher Report has them #4
Sports Illustrated has them #7
SBNation has them #5

A lot of the hype is due to Jim Harbaugh? Agree/disagree? This is a team that only two years ago lost 7 games and last year went 10-3.

It's strictly cause of Jim Harbaugh.

They'll win a lot of games but I question if it's sustainable like Nick Saban has done at Alabama. He's certainly an elite coach.

After year 4, if he isn't in Playoff, it's a failure, especially with all of his satellite camps and the hoopla.

Over under on Missouri making a playoff is never unless they get expanded so Michigan in good hands if you think it's 4 years.

Hawaii
UFC
Colorado
Penn State
Wisconsin
at Rutgers
Illinois
at Michigan State
Maryland
at Iowa
Indiana
at Ohio State

so 4 away games only Michigan State and Ohio State are really scary, Iowa could be touch and their home schedule is fairly cake.

Harbaugh will be judged how he fares against Meyer and OSU, period. It's easy to win 10 a season in the B1G, but his record vs Ohio St. is how he will be judged. Win 50% vs OSU and a few B1G titles and he successful.

I wouldn't say so. I think Michigan is happy with being nationally relevant for now. Once everybody is his guys would I start to see real expectations kick in. It was just last season after their loss to Utah where a Michigan poster was melting about how they're going to suck for an eternity now.

bullshite. It's hard to win anywhere. You certainly have some advantages at Michigan especially when you're as good as Jim Harbaugh, but winning is never "easy". It's hard to win in division 3 in a competitive league.

ETA: there are some other really good coaches in the big 10 that are probably on the verge of getting fired because they're struggling in that "easy" league

still in shock over the punt-fumble-miracle

Year 3, and I think MSU and tOSU are in perfect position for upsets. They should end up in the mix.

According to 247 they have the 2nd easiest schedule.
If they struggle this year then I would think that it will be a failure considering the majority of this list is made up of Big Ten teams.

Easiest 2016 schedules
1. Minnesota
2. Michigan
3. Purdue
4. Maryland
5. Nebraska
6. Boston College
7. Baylor
8. Wake Forest
9. Indiana
10. Iowa

If OSU stomps their face in, they will view the season as a failure.

The biggest problem for Michigan is team speed.......
