NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah believes Missouri DE Michael Sam could go undrafted.

Jeremiah is a former NFL scout. "The number everybody keeps talking about is the 25.5 inch vertical," Jeremiah said of Sam's Combine performance. "That shows you a lack of explosiveness, which is going to scare a lot of people off. ... He needs to jump better than that at his Pro Day or I think it's a real chance, you're talking about (a) seventh-round pick, possibly even going undrafted." The tough road Sam is facing as the NFL's first openly gay player will get even tougher if he doesn't improve some of his measurables at his Pro Day.

Just yesterday I was saying our DE's don't jump nearly high enough.

Maybe he would have put up better numbers if he didn't have a hard on the whole time.

I'd spend a late pick on them just based on his effort and heart in college.

How was he any good? He's not very athletic, relatively speaking...

Even if they pick him late, there will be someone saying he shoulda been picked sooner.

True. It will be amplified if he goes undrafted though

He seemed quick off the line when I watched him in college, i was surprised that they didn't translate to the combine. He has a great motor also

its dumb to look at a vertical and see a lack of explosiveness. look at the film and see if there is a lack of explosiveness or not.

I feel like college coaches get more out of camps than NFL scouts ever could out of combines. Because the play football at camps.

Who gives a shite. If he isn't a good enough football player no one should draft him. He's no different than any other player that will go undrafted.

I was thinking the exact opposite. With the media circus you're going to get it would take a bonafide stud for me to draft him.
