Holy shite. He was a potential CY young guy this year, and one of the best young pitchers in all of baseball. When is the last time a sport has long someone this good?

Just terrible. Makes you think about all the little decisions we make each day and how they can effect us. What if his start hadn't been pushed back a day? I doubt he would've been out boating if he was pitching today.

Man Sportscenter's special on him about make you want to cry. I'm no baseball fan, but damn he seemed like a special kid.

The flag and national anthem story they just told really stood out. Just have to ask, why him?

It always makes me question things when shite like this happens. He had overcome such much in his life and we so great full for the opportunity that the US gave him in his life. He had a difficult time defecting from Cuba and gave it all to get to the greatest nation in the world and then this happens. Meanwhile ungrateful frickups won't stand during the national anthem. frick them, America is awesome! God bless his family!

Very sad. And probably get sadder. Boat accident at 3am. And traveling fast enough to overturn the boat after hitting rocks. I heard "3 dead" as well. Not sure if that is including Fernandez.

Sounds like all the ingredients for foolishness or drunk boating. Just sad. We've probably all got a story or TEN that makes us shake our heads and think how lucky we are/were. And that's without having millions.
