I wouldn't see much of a difference between a 4.47 40-time and 4.52 40-time, and that was the difference in this mile race. Unreal.

Awesome race. He wasn't even that good in high school. Incredible progression. Incredibly hard worker.

Wow, Roger Bannister did that over half a century ago and this is the first time in La ? That's a shocker.

Still a pretty limited club for Americans. Now just imagine ruining at the world record pace of a 3:43 mile

Mostly because LSU isn't a great distance track program. They focus largely on the sprints. Georgetown had 4 different runners go sub-4 this year. Also, the mile isn't run that often compared to the 1,500.

Bob Smith of LSU broke 4 in the seventies i am pretty sure. However he was from Simsbury Conn. And a good guy

Breaking four is still really tough. Only six high schoolers have done it ever. Plus, Louisiana is one of the weakest distance running states in the country.

The world record has dropped 16 seconds since Bannister's sub 4 mile. It is impressive to break 4.

It is not hard at all to run that pace for a short period of time. Can you run 100 meters in 15 seconds?

I'm pretty sure every male ot poster run 3:50 and squats 4 times their body weight.

Also we run 4.3 in the 40 consistently
