I don't understand why a school that has the ability to pull top talent would hire a coach that has zero coaching experience. I understand that Mullin is an alumni, and hopefully he'll do a great job there. Just don't know why they wouldn't hire an experienced guy.

Because a splash hire is really important to try to get a glimmer of the spotlight in NYC. FWIW Steve Kerr had similar credentials before last season.

True about Kerr. Hopefully Mullin will be fine and do a wonderful job there.

Give him time to get his own guys in there. Lavin's recruiting classes were pretty miserable the past few years.

Lavin spent a lot of time recruiting in Louisiana for some reason. Must've had a broad down here.

Bring back Mike Jarvis...that team with Artest and Erick Barkley was sick. They had no business losing to Ohio State in the Elite 8.
