Not surprised.

quote:

The Washington Nationals were an utter disappointment this season, so it's no surprise at all that Matt Williams won't be their manager anymore. The Nats made this one quick, making Williams the first MLB manager to lose his job on this Monday after the regular-season concluded.

Not surprised either. He didn't seem like a good fit there.

He was in the dugout the whole season, Matt Williams just didn't notice.

Worse, but not suck IMO.

Desmond -> Turner: totally different players but Turner's speed is a completely new dimension. No one will miss Desmond striking out 1,000 times.

Span -> Taylor: downgrade (Span is awesome), but Taylor is a good young player

Fister -> Ross: TBD. Ross looked good. Fister is regressing

Zimmermann -> Roark: Obvious downgrade

The 2016 Nats will have the best offense in the division and a good but not as-good rotation that is clearly behind NYM. Bullpen is and probably will be total arse

Most Nats fans already expect Harper to sign with NYY. We're resigned to it and know the window is only open for 3 more years.

if they paid Max 210mil, you'd have to think they can come up with a nice offer to keep bryce

I just don't see him sticking around.

Someone from the old franchises will pay him, probably close to 400M when its all said and done.

Yanks or Cards.

I don't think 400M is high enough. I think the Nats are willing to make an offer along those lines and the Yankees will come along with something insane like 480.

He is going to command a truly ludicrous amount of money.

Not that surprising. He let Papelbon go out and pitch the 9th inning after he started a fight in the dugout. Doesn't exactly show much command of the team.

see ya.....

I would expect either Bud Black or Martinez as the next manager. Martinez is supposedly well liked within the organization
