We'll never know where he would have been selected in 2012, but Barkley -- sounding pretty sure of himself -- told The Dan Patrick Show he "had confidence" he would be the No. 2 overall pick, essentially bumping out Robert Griffin III as the second quarterback taken in April.

"I had confidence that I was going to go high," Barkley told The Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday. "It wasn't really a question of that as to why I came back."

Good QB with good mechanics, but I still don't think Barkley has the kind of measurables that Luck and Griffin have on top of the intangibles. Barkley's arm doesn't look particularly strong to me and he's not particularly athletic either.

I think RG3 still goes #2.

Barkley = the second coming of Leinart. Everything in college was easy. Once he has to work for shite, that little bitch will fold just like Leinart did.

He was saying he didn't come back because of a low draft position or to up his stock...he felt strongly that he would go really high and still decided to come back.

So, humble? I think it shows that money wasn't motivating him and he took a risk.

He's not Leinart and things haven't been easy at USC the last few years but I don't have much faith in him at the next level. Dude can't throw a deep ball accurately.

Barkley is best USC QB prospect since Palmer.

I've got no problem with him being confident he would have gone high but I'm not sure he beats out RGIII for 2nd spot.

Dude isn't even remotely comparable to Leinart as a prospect

Barkley is going to turn into every other USC Qb who goes into the league.

I never said as a prospect. I am more referring to life a an SC QB. None of them work at anything, and when they get to the NFL life's a bitch. Kinda like that rich kid that everyone knows who had it made between the ages of 16-25, and at 35 he's a drunk who sells cars at a used car lot in the middle of nowhere.

Yeah, he just surfs and on the side plays an FBI agent.

You're delusional on what it takes to be a top athlete. USC is good because of the sunshine.

I'm not saying he's got a weak arm or anything, but I think Barkley is just one of those kids that got elite-type coaching early in his life and is just ahead of the curve in high school and coming into college. There are guys that might be more raw than him but have better skills.

He reminds me of a better Jimmy Clausen.

Oh right, I forgot...you know it all about the subject.

No you fricking idiot, I am referring to the fact that SC never plays any high level competition. That is a huge reason why most PAC QBs flame out in the league, because once they get there (after being a typically high draft pick) they learn that their shitty little conference was pretty fricking bad and the level of competition in the league is ten times that.

Make sure you pass that message on to all the NFL Scouts getting duped year in and year out.
