His poll is an aggregation of 100+ computer polls (plus the two human polls)...if you scroll to the bottom, it lists the conference rankings:

LINK

Conference Rankings:
1. SEC
2. Pac 12
3. ACC
4. Big Ten
5. Big 12
6. AAC

There is no balance in the Big Ten...it is very top heavy, and those at the top get to feast on many in-conference cupcakes.

Sec is overrated IMO. An 8-4 team is going to make the Sugar Bowl

50% of the top 8 teams are b1g teams. While that is "top heavy" it seems that data point would carry more weight.

it would appear to be a down year for the SEC, yet the unbiased computer polls (all 100+ of them) love the SEC...why do you think that is the case?

the SEC outside of Bama was incredibly meh this year, and outside of a few good monthly runs (A&M in September, Auburn & LSU in October) was very annoying to watch IMO

So if we follow the composite, Ohio State is a lock according to you.

Thank god we don't let computers decide anymore. I think everyone can agree that the SEC isn't the best conference this year, even the biggest SEC homers.

50% of the B1G teams don't have a winning record.

The public and media severely overrate the B1G this year. Nobody can convince me that Wisconsin is better than LSU. And look at LSU in the SEC.

Now, the SEC isn't good either. I think their "good" teams have a higher ceiling and lower floor than the good teams of the B1G. They're a buncha meh with no weapons to exploit defenses and make big plays.

No one can convince you of this?

What about the box score of the game they played where Wisconsin had more yards passing AND rushing than LSU? LINK

That isn't fair. They had Les and Cameron. And Guice wasn't better than Fournette yet.

I think it's carrying weight in how the committee looks at, say, Ohio State's wins.

But the Big10 is so low in the computers because it is even more bottom heavy than top heavy.

The last four teams are much further behind the last SEC team, for example, than the top teams are ahead.

vs OOC

I do not get to see the workings of all 100 systems, but I can't imagine anything else objective. head to head vs the other conference teams.

The SEC overall is the best conference in college football. The SEC West is by far the best division in college football.

However, I'm not sure how the SEC's Bowl eligible teams stack up against other conferences bowl eligible teams.

Missouri, Ole Miss, and Miss St would probably beat other conferences bottom feeders.

I guess the real question is How do you define a conferences strength? The most common answer among regular people is the amount of ranked teams in a conference and they completely ignore bottom feeders.
