Is this the end of the Gasol/Z-Bo/Conley foundation?

I think they knew there was always a chance of it when the initial injury was announced.

With this, you can pretty much lock in the Western Conference semifinal match-ups.

Golden State/LA Clippers
San Antonio/OKC

Maybe the Clippers pass OKC, but probably not. Gonna be awesome.

kinda. he got injured before ASB. they have an easy schedule, so they will make the playoffs, but they're going to be a pretty easy round 1 out as a 6 or 7 seed.

Probably not, I could see them all back next year. Wouldn't be surprised for them to fall out of the playoffs.

Right, I forgot Houston is going to grab the 7 seed and upset San Antonio in the 1st round.

My bad.

Memphis had no shot to beat any of those team with Gasol or with no Gasol.

If they could have grabbed the 5 seed and had a healthy Gasol for the playoffs, they had an outside shot at LAC.

lol

Can't wait to hear your excuse when it doesn't happen.

No, not imo. They don't have the offensive firepower to keep up with the big dogs. Poorest 3 point shooting team of the last decade and they haven't done anything to fix it. Can't trade 2s for 3s against the LACs, GSWs, etc of the NBA.

Yeah has been since the injury was initially announced, this just sort of made it official

Ehh not really. ZBo is obviously going to take on a smaller role in the upcoming years, but the plan going forward is to build around Marc and Mike.

I honestly wouldn't be too upset if we miss the playoffs this year and lose our pick in such a weak draft instead of for sure losing it next year in a strong draft where the pick then only becomes top 5 protected.

They surprisingly killed it on/around the trade deadline basically refilling the cupboard of draft picks and will have a ton of cap space this summer to trade in to.

I wouldn't be surprised if they pick up their team option on Lance Stephenson in the offseason (if their isn't some sort of meltdown, which is certainly possible) because he sort of fits a role that Joerger has been trying to fill.

Since you brought it up, it seemed to work okay in 2013 when Memphis was 25th in the league in 3-point percentage. Obviously, LAC is shooting 3-pointers at a much higher percentage this season, but I think they had an outside shot at them.

You should know better than to slip up like this and doubt HOU in the playoffs. They usually deliver that title, brother

7 teams were worse than them just last season

Grizz have owned both the season series against these teams for a while, Warriors have obviously turned it around post-Mark Jackson. Still gave them their toughest test of the postseason with a one-eyed PG and our best perimeter defender playing on 1 leg.

Yo uaint beat a legit team on the road all season long, you got other things to worry about besides HOU. Wouldn't surprise me one bit for Spurs to lose in rd 1 regardless of who the opponent is.
