I know this will be unpopular, but this sort of encapsulates the problem with baseball's popularity with the younger generation.

On one hand, we have one of the greatest announcers in all of sports giving the play by play go an all-star player.

Yet, in the middle of the performance he's able to continuously tell a story, albeit an interesting one.

i mean you could do that in football as well in between plays and not every play by play guy does this. its just something that vin does and is one of the main reasons why he is widely considered to be the greatest play by play announcer in the history of the profession regardless of sport

Sounds like a problem with shitty/boring people and not the sport, no?

Baseball has a problem with the younger generation? Hmmm...the increasing attendance and ratings sure don't reflect that.

Plus, football will be all but dead in 20 years due to lawsuits and parents keeping their kids from playing (think boxing), then baseball and soccer will become hugely popular in the US.

Yes it has the oldest fan base (median age in the 50s), and your baseball participation and deceased consistently and signicantly over the years.

So it most defintely is reflected, although I'm not saying it's dying, it just as problems/

So what it sounds like is Madison thought it was a rattle snake but turned out to probably be a rat snake (how you mix these two up I don't know).

So Mr. harmless snake is going about his own business, grabs a bite to eat, then this "cowboy" who can't tell a rattler from a rat proceeds to chop him into bits.

Really great story.

If Bryce Harper can't save baseball, then all hope is lost.

Best young player in many, many years.
