Good list. Except you missed two of the best amateurs in Louisiana Golf History -- Patrick Christovich & Tommy BrennAn.

Haynie is pretty remarkable. Finishes top 20 or 30 at the State Am and Mid am most years. Has won both of those events too.

The Herberts each won a major and multiple tourneys. Have to be in there.

Non-pros have no place here. The PGA courses week to week are much much tougher and with incredible pressure.

That's like saying Flacco is better than Johnny Unitas because he made more money.

Was Jackie Burke from LA or TX? He has a PGA and green jacket I believe.

Burke was from Oklahoma I believe but lived mostly in Texas. Or maybe I am thinking of somebody else. I pick Toms over Sutton. Toms was a grinder, played a lot of trny's. Sutton was too busy chasing pussy.

Both Toms and Sutton have been up here in the Shreveport-Bossier golf scene for a long time. One thing is for sure. Around here David Toms is considered one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet. I'll leave it at that.
