Logansport wins 34-28

I went and got me a double shot of diesel this past Halloween. Last time I made the trip. I grew up near junction city and it is starting to remind me of Haynesville. You get the right coach in there and you'd be amazed at what can happen

that's really surprising, Haynesville must have just completely collapsed

Football is all that town has. I've been to a couple of games when I was up there hunting and the whole town is there for the most part.

Run the same system from age 8 to 12th grade. Great town great people

Doesn't Junction City have an indoor practice facility now?

I believe so. They are ridiculous for a 2a school. I remember a couple of years ago people said they were arguably the best team through 5a in Arkansas.

That was the Dancy kids senior year IIRC. I remember them being pretty dominant that season.

Played a ton of golf tournaments there in my teens, remember seeing that shitty little high school next to the golf course and wondering the same question that you asked

Never had any interaction with Haynesville other than watching them in the Dome.
Always seemed like a class program and Coach Franklin was every bit as respected if not more than JT Curtis.
Nothing but respect for that little town and program.

I'm a Haynesville boy. Lived there my whole life. The success of the football program is a combination of great coaching, athletes, and having a system set in place. They've done everything exactly the same for 40 years. Everything from practice to pregame warmups is the same. Like someone said, all the town has is football. The kids grow up wanting to win a championship. The kids play together all the way through Pee wee ball on up and learn the same plays as the high school team. Winning is expected and the kids buy into the system and put a lot of work in together during the offseason. Looks like they came up short tonight against Logansport. I guarantee the team minus the seniors will be right back in the weight room Monday. The hunt for 2017 championship started right after the game clock hit zero for them boys.

The high school actually isn't anywhere near the golf course. The football stadium is though. The school is down the road about half a mile right off of highway 79. They have a very nice stadium and one of the best playing fields with real grass in the state. The coaches put in a ton of effort to take care of the field and stadium. Inside the stadium, press box, and scoreboard were all upgraded a few years ago. Very nice venue for small school ball.

Actually chick-a-dilly burnt up a few weeks ago so we don't have that anymore. Have a very good Mexican restaurant now though.

Well the lead was blown, wasn't it? Just think about it...
Did you go to CA? I went to Glenbrook then LSU

Yeah blew a 22 pt lead heading into the 4th. Nah I went to Haynesville K-12. My brother graduated from CA though.

I remember going to Haynesvile when Magnolia played them about 10 or 12 yrs ago and Haynesville kicked the shite out of them. And Magnolia is easily triple the size of Haynesville. All I remember about that stadium is seeing what seemed like 30 state titles going back 50+ yrs. stamped across the brick. Magnolia has 1 state title since 73'.
Barely any space separates the towns , yet they are lightyears apart in football mentality and coaching. Baseball is almost the exact opposite. South Arkansas has some very, very solid programs.
What's also amazing is just how crazy border regions are for fanhood. Literally as soon as you cross the border into Springhill or Haynesville, everyone is an LSU fan...as soon as you go back across ....it's Razorback flags.....I mean damn...neither of us grew up close to our respective schools...not even close, we're each 4 or 5 hrs away...yet as soon as that invisible line is crossed...it's over, you're one fan or the other.
