Yeah, he doesn't get to make that decision.

Has there never been an Elway or Eli Manning in the NBA drat?

If not, why so?

How is the NFL draft different than the NBA draft?

Elway threatened to play baseball and Eli was in a draft with another elite qb in Rivers so the chargers were happy to comply

Holy shite, I wish they would have interviewed him and he trolled the hell out of them. That had GOAT TV moment potential.

His dad is the quintessential scumbag AAU Dad/uncle/handler. These assholes are a dime a dozen here in Atlanta. Really fricked up the way they take advantage of kids

Elway threatened to play baseball

Well we all know that...

And those at the time - we all knew that was bullshite.

It's just Elway would sit out the draft for a year...and the NFL at that time - they thought they couldn't sign him.

If you get drafted in the NBA, sit out a year - can you get re-drafted without compensation from the original drafter?

If so, why hasn't this type of football demand happened before in the NBA?

Does Ball go back into the draft after a year like Elway with no strings attached?

Unless the NBA team that drafts you originally owns your rights into perpetuity until they deem fit.

It probably wasn't actually him. Why would he go on some random Arizona journalist's talk show? Then ESPN almost got trolled too.

Would be better if Milwaukee picked him...

NBA decides to start new franchise in the area that used to have Rochester Royals and Syracuse Nationals. The new team gets to pick first, picks Ball. When they hand him the hat on draft day, its a hat like Elmer Fudd wears with the ear flaps.

It's happened several times.

1)Steve Francis refused to go to V. Grizzlies & forced a trade to Houston.

2) Dominique Wilkins warned the Jazz not to pick him at #3 They picked him anyway ,but traded him to Atlanta. Wilkins " SEC Storied" short I watched recently showed Ted Turner joking about how much money it cost him to get Nique in ATL.

3)Billy Ownens refused to play for the Kings .

They all drafted players anyway to at least trade for assets to a team that really wanted them.

Was there any of that with Kobe being traded from Charlotte to LA?

Kobe threatened to play in Italy if the Nets drafted him IIRC.
