Okay, it wasn't a Hail Mary, but rather a bomb jump ball in the final minute to beat one of the worst teams in the ACC.
I mean it wasn't a jump ball either. It was a perfectly thrown pass. Yeah the game with Virginia was very close and they almost lost but don't try to turn that into some fluke. That was a hell of a throw. Good players make good plays.

Okay, ill eat the words. That was a great pass. Still, that was against one of the worst teams in the worst major conference.
Congratulations, Notre dame.
I think Iowa gets clipped in Lincoln today. All American corner is suspended the first half, from what I understand. Golden opportunity for The Bugeaters to expose a weak link.

At no point here am I trying to talk up the SEC, either division, or Tennessee. I will simply say that the team I saw Tennessee curb stomp in that shitty bowl game last year was full of slow, bad players. Unless you replaced your entire roster with an actual good one, why would I believe that bad team could play with a healthy Vols team, let alone a team with real championship aspirations?

You make utterly retarded comments about how they deserve no respect for beating bad teams. When asked if you transpose that logic to Alabama, who is not currently in possession of a single win as good as Iowa's best, you deflect back to talent and lack of speed. When presented with facts around talent and what the program has done, you just stop replying.
Oh, and then you talk about games played by different teams from last season.
You wonder why I think you're a fricking moron? Just shut the frick up.

What the frick is your best win? Northwestern? Congrats, I guess.
The fact that you said you expect Iowa to get clipped by Nebraska tells you aren't even buying your own bullshite.

I'm going to say this again
Northwestern has a better win on its resume than any SEC team not named Ole Miss. It is the same team that Notre Dame's entire playoff hopes are tied to. Their only two losses are to a current top five and another top ten.
I know, they would be dead last in the SEC West. frick, they'd probably fourth in the American conference.
As of right now, iowa has no bullshite to buy. They've controlled the entire season, never trailed in the fourth. This is Nebraskas super bowl and a forming hated rivalry.

Nebraska is a bad team with a coach who should have retired years ago, and there's no good reason should go into the game thinking losing is a realistic possibility.

I can help with your Nebraska issue. Use your SEC logic instead. Iowa is going on the road against a team that beat a Top 5 team already this year. This team is trying to become bowl eligible and it's going to be a battle.

What SEC logic? Talking up Nebraska is like talking up Missouri. I'll pass.

I am not talking up Nebraska, I think they fricking suck. That said, Iowa State always sucks, and that didn't stop them from beatin Iowa a bunch of times.

SEC Logic is that if an SEC team beat a top 5 SEC team they jump up 20 spots in rankings and are a "gritty" team. "Best 5 loss team in county" "Best 4 loss team in country" etc.

Fair enough. I really don't think Florida is that good.

See 6-5 Arkansas -- a 4-3 SEC West team with home losses to a sub .500 big twelve team that has no defense and a MAC team.
The fact that they get votes is a laugher.

Answer me honestly. Did Iowa make changes? Anything that would have closed the speed gap evident a year ago. I don't believe in Butch at all, and I'm one of the most pessimistic Vols fans out there, but I genuinely believe Tennessee would beat Iowa in a rematch fairly easily. I really have a tough time seeing them compete with Ohio State, Alabama, etc.

Serious question how do you feel about OU jumping Iowa in the rankings? As much as I have been bashing on them I don't necessarily mind them being ranked ahead of Notre Dame because they are undefeated even if I think they aren't good. Just curious if it is frustrating to have a 1 loss OU move up and leapfrog Iowa?

Well, they supplanted the starting QB and his replacement has never lost a game, and he makes a ton of plays. Tremendous leader. Bama threw as many INT in their Ole Miss game as he has thrown all year. The offense has changed dramatically. Iowa has a ton of plays over 40 yards, at one time, they were one of the best in FBS in that category. They have three tailbacks that have hit 195 yards in a game, two with 200. Two with 4 TD games, and they are top five in rushing TDs.
The defense is classic Iowa, but they've come out with more speed packages and blitzes, whereas they typically rushed the front four and played a base 4-3.
What you saw in that bowl was an aberration. Iowa has never been waxed like that in a bowl game, not even when wildly overmatched.

Don't care about OU. I'd rather Iowa be five right now -- it fuels the team and they relish the national doubt and play with a chip as a result.
None of this matters to Iowa and it never has. Win out and you were always gonna get in. Once you're in, everyone is legit to a degree, and from there, there is no shame in losing.

This post was a tour de force. Are you an Iowa grad by any chance?
