It does sound like bs...I still haven't heard from a Parkway person why they wanted the LO team to clear the field when they were warming up 30-45 min before kickoff.

Why would the bands play before the game

administrator for parkway said that they were supposed to leave the field by 6:35 for the bands and when they repeatedly refused the police were called in to remove the coach from the field.

I believe the two schools had been arguing all week about pregame warm ups, halftime entertainment, and no telling what else. It is the playoffs and home teams want any advantage they can get.

Here is what happened according to KTBS news in Shreveport. The home team gets to set the agenda for the game, times for pre-game, half time, and after the game. Apparently Parkway's and Live Oak's Principals were in a pissing contest over the week. Live Oak wanted to share half time entertainment and Parkway said no. Parkway has asked for the same thing at every away game and have been denied every time. Both schools argued back and forth all week over the agenda. The news did report that there was 10 min offered to Live Oaks band to perform during pre-game but that didn't happen. Both teams were warming up when the PA announcer asked that both schools leave the field so the pre game festivities could start; prayer, Star Spangled Banner, and Parkway Band playing of the fight song. The Coach for Live Oak did not leave. The PA announcer asked again, still no response, they kept on warming up. The refs asked, then the Principal asked, then the Bossier Sheriffs office asked, still no response. Finially they had enough and handcuffed him and escorted him off the field. He was not arrested and booked, just escorted off the field in cuffs in front of his team and fans. All of this according to KTBS.

So Parkway has been acting like a bitch all week and decided to top their doucheness off by having the opposing coach escorted off the field in handcuffs during preface warmups.

Awesome

Longer than just this week. Parkway is ridiculously unaccomodating to every team they play. They wouldn't allow a local radio station to broadcast their game because they said it would effect attendance. Not live TV or even tape delayed TV...fricking radio.

Hell, I think we won a total of 7 games the 3 years I was on the team.

Thats what happens when you trust a 5'10" crippled kid to play right tackle.

Tut is a damned good football coach and a guy that is going to stand up for his team in the face of bullshite, which is what sounds like happened tonight. He has won as St. John and Bishop Sullivan, not the easiest places to win football games historically.
My oldest son played for him all 4 years he was at St. John. He's a really good coach as evidenced in the Live Oak turnaround. I'd fire our current coach in a heartbeatjust to have Tut back for one game.

Sounds like a case of false imprisonment. What was the legal justification for handcuffing the coach?

After a week of trying to reach a compromise about not allowing the band to perform, Parkway finally said the LOH band could perform during pregame from 6:35-6:45. Our band director knows that Tut warms up every week until approximately 6:45, and made the decision not to interfere with that. Our principal notified Parkway that the band had made the decision to give their 10 minutes to the team for warmup. So, when Tut wouldn't leave the field, the principal declared that the time wasn't transferable. When he refused to give up the time, she had him cuffed and removed for staying after forbidden. He wasn't arrested, and returned to the game.

If the LO coach can't get his team warmed up in the same amount of time everyone else does then that's a bitch move on his part. Home team sets the agenda, period. Its a part of the whole home field "advantage" thing. Lack of class and sportsmanship on his part imo. Glad Parkway curb stomped them

Lo band gave up their ten minutes so the LO players could warm up(legal). There is supposed to be a pre-signed paper of agreement before the game takes place, there was never any agreement met(legal). The Parkway principal had LO's coach falsely arrested. By law the coach didnt have to leave the field unless the agreement was pre arranged. Since when does a principle have the authority to have this done? The deputy and principal could face repercussions over this.

Yeah, and that admisitrator is a dumb frick and needs to be punched in the throat.

This is a football game, not a battle of the bands.

Not true. Home team doesn't get to just set the rules. There has to be an agreement. If LO band gave up 10 minutes to the football team, good for the LO band. Parkway was the ones acting like some little b*****s. Definitely lack of class and sportsmanship... by Parkway's principal.

Parkway can be classless to, I think they wouldn't allow a visiting team to have its radio broadcast because they thought it would hurt ticket sales.

It was Farmerville. 3A school from a very small town and they refused to allow a radio broadcast. I hope WM gets to play Parkview. Shows will have something for them.
