Likelihood that SD knows that Bosa is likely going to be a bust?

Maybe they saw enough of him in the rookie minicamp to know that he has a good chance of being a bust and that's what led to this situation?

I feel like there is zero chance that they know he's a bust.

It's the cheap arse owner. Every single top 10 pick the Chargers drafted have held out. No wonder they're always dogshit.

Totally different now. Definitely not apples to apples as far as negotiations go.

That organization has never been able to get out of their own way, nothing new.

Yes that is why a team doesn't want their 3rd overall pick

He is going to suck. I laughed when he was being floated as the #1 pick.

San Diego could draft a wet dream and still frick it up, and I love it.

Yea you totally don't even give your #3 overall pick a chance to work out, and engage in a public contract dispute that hurts your reputation because of some shite in rookie mini camp.

I don't know how some of you people supposedly function in the real world.

You scout the #3 overall pick for 5 months and then select him.
Now you decided it isn't is the best interest of the organization to pay him his rookie scale slot?

I would fire the entire scouting department & front office.

That would explain why they offered him a lot of money and a lot of guaranteed money in first year.

I'm on Team Bosa in the sense that what he's asking for is not unreasonable. He's just asking for what players in his slot normally get. Chargers are just being the Chargers.

That said, he lost this power struggle. I think it's time to just accept what they offer and remember this when he becomes a UFA. If this is a stand purely on principle, then by all means, hold out as long as you need to.

But if this is about money, then he's about to lose money. And if he goes back into the draft next year he will have lost money that he's not guaranteed to ever make back. To continue this holdout, if this is about money, is a bad decision. Every minute he misses is less time available to make money for his next contract.

Why wouldn't they have know that before the draft?

You're thinking there's a chance that they saw enough while players where running around in shorts in minicamp to convince them that everything they saw scouting his college playing career and the NFL combine and private workouts (in shorts, likely) was a lie?

OK?

0.0% chance this is the reason for this issue.
