And those 10 schools want the split removed more than anything. Hard to understand why your power house publics like WM and Acadiana voted against removing the split in 5A. You would think those power houses wouldn't be afraid of some better competition.

For WM and Acadiana, etc., it's "there but for the grace of God go we". They could easily be in the shoes of their peers that lose kids and can't compete with selects

I don't understand it either, because WM hasn't lost to a private school in Louisiana except Evangel and they're a shell of their former selves.

Every year there are many good middle school players out here that end up at selects in Jefferson and Orleans. It sucks but nothing you can do about it. I doubt WM has to worry about St Fred's taking kids away.
