If a kid goes to a small weak school, he needs to know that life doesn't make any concessions. You play iron man the way God intended.

I think it sends the wrong message.

Probably and it makes sense. Some of these schools have smaller enrollments than JC's roster

I didn't think there was much of a demand for this.

Get ready for the Winnfield principal to vote against it. They recruit half their team from schools without football programs. If those schools get 8-man, they can't go to Winnfield anymore.

very strong chance it passes....many single A schools are in favor of it...and a big chunk of B and C as well..

parish wide attendance zones..

NO split for some classes in football

and allowing schools to play all the way up in a particular sport will be the real newsmakers...

I say give 8 man football to those that want it....

in general football participation numbers are declining...

On a somewhat related note, does anyone have any insight into what (if any) changes they will make to the playoffs and classes?

8 man? With the size schools involved, 6 man would make more sense. Just copy the TX program......

8-man football

How will teams play offense without a center, quarterback and runningback?

Or do I have the concept wrong?

agreed... plenty of schools in class B are the same size as 1A and don't have programs (even some of those schools outgrew class B and are 2A CNF)... if they start at 8-man, they'll go up to 11-man eventually

I played 8 man growing up in Kansas. 3 linemen, QB, 2 RB, 2 TE/WR combo was a typical offensive set.
