Just a sad, sad move to be honest. Rules are rules, but his story is something that you just do not see everyday.
Article on when he first got to EHS
WBRZ story (5:45 mark)
ETA:chaged boards

Care to just share what they ruled bud?

He was ruled ineligible for his senior years athletics because he turns 19 55 days before the deadline.

Dang. That is unfortunate. If the kid was never held back a grade once he got to the states, he shouldnt be punished

You have to draw the line somewhere. Can't be having 21 year olds playing high school sports.

Curious to see what happens with him. Will he find a way to go to a prep school out of state? Will he just be a senior who can't play sports and stay at Episcopal and then go to college?
Seems like he could be a low-major D-1 prospect in football with a bit of luck, so I hope he can find a prep school that will let him go for free.

Few options. Possibly prep school. Odds are he remains at Episcopal and tries to get scholarship in either soccer or football.

I didn't read the article but I assume they will appeal or have appealed for a hardship waiver.

Yeah, but he is in an extremely unique situation for why he is 19 before the allowed date. This is the type of situation that will probably never face the LHSAA again.

I imagine it will be tough not being able to play football as a senior though. Is the 19 rule only for football? Or does it apply to other sports (soccer) as well?
High school soccer isn't the least bit important for recruiting, so if he is good enough, he should just play club over the summer and see if he can get a scholarship.

Not sure on exact rules, but he cannot play either. He's gonna play club now that he won't have football..
Vote count btw was 11-8..

Its for all sports.

It's all sports. I had a good friend who moved a ton and ended up needing an extra year to graduate. He wrestled and the coach didn't realize there was an issue until the first meet. Talk about bummed after training all summer

He can play in the MPSA ala Stevan Ridley.
