Mallet should be done.

His attitude on the sideline looked terrible.
He looks both whiney and petulant, and makes Jay Cutler look like a consumate professional.

That being said, O'brien and the coaching staff ROYALLY messed up the QB situation. There was no reason for it to be this bad, but they set it up. They bear responsibility in this as well. Additionally, they should have had a coach talking to Mallet as soon as he was taken out of the game.

TLDR: Mallet may have a bad attitude, but the coaching staff is also to blame.

It says alot to me about where the quarterbacking in the NFL is, if Ryan Mallett is a starter. Out of all the new QB's in the NFL over the last 5 years til today, I don't see but maybe one Hall of Famer. Andrew Luck of course.

I think he's the type that would root for Hoyer to do bad at the expense of his team.

I agree.

The NFL seems to have lost the ability to "develop" quarterbacks. I guess that's because HCs and OCs change almost yearly.

If a QB isn't basically NFL-ready coming out of college, they get hosed. It says a lot that Hasselbeck looks better than most of the young QBs.

Yeah, Cam or Wilson might become great (and Luck has a ways to go) but there's no obvious Rodgers and plenty of RG3, Kaep, and Bradford kind of stories.

huge, huge arm, small brain.

i was really hoping he could be the guy-- or at least be alot better. he played great against the browns last year (allegedly his only healthy start). everything was coming together for him, it was his shot. but the fact he couldnt beat out hoyer should have told us everything we needed to know.

i sold all my stock in the preseason when in his 5th year in the NFL, he ran a play he knew was wrong on 3rd and short. it was odd during the game, and when they went over it on hard knocks, i couldnt believe how poorly he handled the entire situation. immediately moving on after that snap shot

He was on track to have his best game of the season so far last night but WHY would you take yourself out of the game just for getting your wind knocked out? Even if it's for one play that's not what BOB wants to see for a team trying to battle through adversity.

I've rooted for him but if he thinks he should be handed the starting job just because he has the superior arm talent that's not gonna work in the NFL

He'll never make it.

He was a huge trashy douche in college and it obviously hasn't changed at all.

On the field he was pretty legit in college but also fricked up royally multiple times on the big stage.

Georgia at home, Alabama at home and of course, the epic Sugar Bowl.
