Let's call the playoff what it is...

Its a plus one like we've been talking about for years... The semifinals are the Rose Bowl and Sugar.
Its good if you're looking for the top 2 teams. Lets assume that it's between Bama, FSU, and Oregon. All three now have a chance for the title. For TCU, Baylor, and OSU, should have thought about it when you lost, and feel grateful for your mulligan if you're the lucky one

A playoff is a chance for hot teams who finish the season strong to win it all. Example.....N Y Giants. San Francisco Giants etc

Said this before. It is simply impossible to determine the "best" team. All you can do is determine who your champion is.
