Since today is draft day, I would like to take the time to bring to light the fact that one year, the Saints traded away their ENTIRE DRAFT in order to get Ricky Williams.

Kinda glad I wasn't a Saints fan growing up until a few years later. No way I could handle that.

One of the most overrated coaches in any sport.

I was a young ’un back then but I remember being completely confused about the Saints trading away their entire draft for a guy who wasn't even the highest selected player at his position. I watched Ricky play at Texas and he was a beast but there's no way Bill Polian would have passed him over for Edgerrin James if Ricky was as great as the Saints thought he was.

Since today is draft day I would like to remind everyone of the time the falcons blew a 28-3 lead in the SuperBowl to secure the 31st pick in the draft.

I've been a fan since I was able to understand the game.

All that they went through with Ditka and the end of Haslett made the 2006-2011 run that much more enjoyable.

I hope to God we can build a defense over the next 3 years to give Drew one last run at a title.

I thought the same and immediately thought Ditka was an idiot for going all-in early as the Saints coach. Didn't work out well for anyone obviously.

Things like this would be so awesome in today's age of internet and analytics.

The internet would have exploded.

Especially the Saints board. I remember Coach Ditka's theory being that several of your picks never pan out and therefore go big on the sure thing.

Those were the losers I grew up watching. Hopefully the Saints regress back to the suck soon, this decade of being good feels so odd.

Just as bad is in 2003 how they wasted the 2 first round picks they got for trading Ricky on bust Jonathan Sullivan in the top 10.
