The 90's was the weakest decade in NBA history.

I don't consider it a bad thing when you disagree

Yes.

The new zone schemes make it easier to focus on stopping one player than it was back in the day with the illegal defense calls.

When was defensive three-second added?

were defensive players in the early 90s allowed to sit a big man in the paint? I cant remember.

Only asking bc i remember it being a lot harder to drive the ball to the basket back then, and im not a basketball rule expert

The Pierce/Garnett/Allen celtics and the mid 2000's Spurs were great teams.

I get how some people illogically hold Jordan in higher esteem bc the front office on the Bulls was better than the front office on the Cavs and that's fine. However, when it comes to simply evaluating their playoff runs and/or titles Jordan had just much if not more, supporting talent.

That's just not true. While it's true that slightly harder fouls were permitted in the that time period, the illegal defense rules were much stricter, and made isoing much easier. With today's zone hybrid schemes pioneered by Tom Thibodeau, teams who master those schemes with the right personnel can make it nearly impossible for even the best players to drive consistently. It's why the three ball is becoming so valuable in today's NBA, bc it's the only way to consistently beat those kinds of defenses.

Also defenses didn't even really get tough until the mid 90's with Riley's Knicks, go back and watch some of those famed Lakers/celtics series and see how much defense is played. The answer is none.

Well MJ also needed to wait for his teammates to develop, not joining 2 other top 10 players in the league at the time to finally break through.

Jordan signed an 8 year contract early in his career. By the time his contract came up with Chicago he had already won a Championship. It's no where near the same. Context is everything.

Please stop with these threads. Keep your insecurities about Jordan to yourself and off the MSB. It's annoying.

You have to have 3 in a row to have an MJ moment.

LeBron should have been aggressive against Dallas two years ago and then he could have had an MJ moment this year.
