he's never done anything that made me dislike him.
i don't blame him for leaving Cleveland. the way he handled it was immature, but it wasn't assholish.
i'm not a big fan of his either, and probably won't ever be. but it's hard to hate the guy.
you can probably blame Stern for him leaving too, just for the fact that Cleveland isn't a big market and the dictator won't help the little teams out. Lebron left probably knowing this and that he'd never win a championship up there.

What impresses me about Lebron is how smart, educated, and media savvy (yes, you read that right) he seems.
Isn't he from the hood? Grew up in the ghetto with no father? No college whatsoever? I think I heard him say one time that he never even knew any white people or had any/many interactions with white people until he started ballin (right before he was brought to SVSM).
He sounds like he's from the suburbs, interviews well, says all the right things, etc etc. I know he has a PR team surrounding him, but he impresses the hell outta me in this aspect.
Eta: not sure why this got a sticky though

Do I have to post the Deadspin article about "The Decision" for the fiftieth time here?
The people who blame James for that are willfully ignorant at this point.

I would like to read it, please post it. The Decision I'm sure sounded like a good idea on paper. Instead of just bouncing from Cleveland and pissing everyone off, show your face on tv, man up, and tell them personally you are leaving (aka, don't be a coward about it). Use the money from the event to give to charity, etc etc
It ended up backfiring, but it still sounds like the right thing to do.....

As I've said before, I wasn't a fan of the "decision" show on ESPN, but had no real issue of him signing with the heat (even if I didn't fully agree). I've always been a fan of LeBron's and respect the hell out of the guy.

You can be smart and educated and come from the "hood", as you call it....you speak as though the suburbs have a monopoly on these traits.

All threads on the GOAT should be stickied.

I know right. Remember that time in clevland when he tackled that fan and played catch with another one
As hard as it may seem, I think you're confusing Lebron with someone else.

Everything about LeBron seems like its a calculated part of a machine.
I don't think he is sincere about anything.

If people would just treat sports for what it is, a game, then we could ALL enjoy things like the Decision and all the hype and anticipation before it and everything in its aftermath.
IMO, there's no reason to not like stuff like that. But most fans treat sports like a cathedral and it's super serious to them lol.
