Lebron James is the modern day Magic Johnson

Magic was a 6'9 point guard who directed the flow of the game like none other. I see Lebron doing the same thing. Incredible. FYI I remember watching Magic play.

I completely agree, but water is wet too.
LeBron makes role players better than any other top player in the history of the game.

Except Lebron is ultra athletic.

This is who lebron should be compared to and he would get way less hate

There is no comparison. Lebron is better than magic. Only someone like PJ would argue it

I'm truly amazed how great of a player LeBron has become, particularly when you consider the hype he had going back to high school. It is usually absurd to crown a 16 year old as the second-coming of Jordan, yet LeBron will finish his career as either the 1st or 2nd best to ever play the game. That is incredible.

It's very important to compare players to those of similar game styles, I feel Lebron James/Magic Johnson comparison is fair as is kobe/Jordan.

look what he has done.. first took a group of nobodies with the cavs to finals... he leaves and they are worst team in nba almost every year he is gone. Makes 4 finals with heat, leaves them and goes to cavs who were horrible and had number 1 pick, and 2 games away from taking them to the finals while the team he left didnt make playoffs. Wherever he goes, he leads them to finals

No one is saying magic is better, it's a comparison in playing styles. They direct the game using their size, smarts and role players.

Watching him in high school, I thought he was going to be Magic with better defense.
He really improved his shooting and his shot selection though, especially in Miami, and became even more than that.

LeBron is unreal. MJ's style is different and like others have said, LeBron compares more to Magic and is better. If Lebron puts in a solid 5-7 more years with a few championships, it will be hard to argue against him being the best all around basketball player ever. MJ will always be considered a better scorer, but LeBron is close enough there and better in other areas.
On a side note, Oscar Robertson had 181 triple doubles. LeBron picked up his 50th this season.

I've been saying this for years, and it's why I love LeBron so much and appreciate what he's accomplished.
I don't think there's ever been a player that's lived up to his hype so much in the modern day media frenzy (except maybe Tiger).
