Still, if the hospital confirmed that she was a patient and he had no comment when asked about it, there has to be at least some truth to the matter, no?

No, why would there be any reason to assume there is truth to the matter? Because he chose not to speak publicly about his wife's health???

It's a website you never heard of with an article written by some dude you never heard of.

Have we really sunk that low that we'll literally believe anything we read on the internet?

Also, if you want more reasons to not believe this story, this is the title of the article:

quote:

“Lavar still has not allowed his kids to see their sick mother due to the media attention it would bring, and cause brand sales to diminish”

Are all of you blindly believing this story not stopping for 1 second to say WTF does that title even mean?

the hospital confirmed it because the author of this article said they did

im sorry, i would need a little more than that to actually believe this

thats not to say that lavar isnt an idiot, but i just have a hard time believing this one example when it would be a humongous story if true and everything in that article is complete hearsay with a token "i spoke with the hospital!!!!"

It's HIPAA, and I don't think this is a HIPAA violation.

3:50 into this interview the reporter asks the horribly inappropriate question about his mom's health and he chooses not to comment

Pretty sure they can.

If the patient doesn't ask to have their info confidential, there's really nothing that I know of that would stop a hospital from doing so. As I mentioned, pretty sure that's not a HIPAA thing.

Unless they provided more than that she was there, it isn't

He gave a perfect response, why would he bother with that? That's a personal issue, maybe he just doesn't want to talk about his mother's health in that moment, that seems perfectly normal.

It is if the woman asked for her admittance to be private.
The hospital itself may have a policy in place that protects all patients as well. The hospital my mom runs definitely has this in place.
