I've been in Baton Rouge the last 6-7 years and havent kept up with Tech like I used to. But I caught a pre-game interview with Burroughs on 97.7 Saturday and came away really impressed. He sounds like he really knows what he's doing. Like with all good Tech coaches, though, the trick will be keeping him around more than a few years.

Serious question, when did this start? Second time I've heard that this week and I've never heard it before. I like it though.

then when Burroughs leaves Tech can promote Christian Ostrander like they should have in the first place

JC Love was a Ruston businessman who was a big fan of Tech athletics and they named the stadium after him in 1982

LATech fans, what year was it here awhile back where ya'll had a run similar to this. It was somewhere along 09'-10'. A great run and thought that their baseball program was beginning to peak then. I'm headed to watch them in a couple of weeks if they keep it up. Need more of a sample size. If they keep this up it will be sold out every game. That is how you build it.

No I know the name of the field...just never heard the Love Shack thing, but I don't follow Tech.

one of our last seasons in the WAC we weren't very good, but somehow made it to the championship game of the tournament

I played at Tech in the early 90's when the song "Love Shack" by the B52's came out. The players were calling the stadium "the love shack" back then... because of the song.

Gotcha...guess I haven't paid enough attention.

But ya'll had an impressive run.. I'm not usually a big baseball fan, but when ya'll went on that streak I was listening to every game and went and watched two as my sister and nephews lived in Ruston. I hope this run is sustained. I'll pay that money to go watch them if I can get a ticket even though I live out of town.

Viewing it from the outside I can understand the animosity by Cajun fans toward LTs quick turnaround of their program. The Cajuns were right there as the #2/#3 program in the state behind LSU and adjacent Tulane. Now LT looks to be progressing into that conversation what 2 years after losing 45+ games? Add in what happened in football when the Cajuns looked to be making a push to surpass LT as the #2 program before the two thrashings and I'm sure there is an extra bit of venom that LT swept the Cajuns last year.
You put way too much time into it.

That, plus the Cajuns have perpetual butthurt because no one is buying their 'Louisiana' shite.
LOL. No one buying it? Just our conference.....including ULM:

Is it consistent yet? Nope. Are we making huge strides? Yep.
We are 'Louisiana.'

TJ Soto, is that you?
No, I "played" with TJ in the late 90s. By played, I mean they gave me a uniform and let me practice for a year.
TJ had more raw power than anybody I've ever seen. We all used to stop and watch him take BP. With those bats, he dropped mammoth bombs.

Forced to do so by the Sun Belt Conference. Also, the only reason why this was allowed was because of a paperwork snafu. ULL has always tried this Louisiana bullshite, but ULM blocked it. Someone messed up the paperwork this year, so ULL was granted it. I don't know if it will be permanent or if the proper paperwork next year will end it. I do know the ULM president and AD have received MASSIVE blowback from alumni over this mistake.

ULM's AD is on the verge of breaking a leg trying to jump off the ULM wagon to any other job. He's a finalist for the Sacramento State job.

That's just a bunch of butthurt nonsense. There was no 'snafu' as ulm gave their blessing for it....plain and simple. Besides which, and no offense to them, but they have a helluva lot more to fight than the name issue.
Try again.
Try again.
