So it's not enough to have 1 son playing & starting Division 1 baseball at LSU but your 2nd son is the best HS pole vaulter in the country & competes for Sweden. The Duplantis Family is certainly gifted...

Grew up close to them. Family is just frickin gifted. Greg (dad) was a stud pole vaulter, Helena (mom) was a pentathlete or some shite, and every kid had set records when they were in school. They just keep getting better smh

I'm guessing that one (both?) of his folks are maybe Swedish?
Even so, anyone know why the hell isn't he competing for the good ol' US of A?

I remember hearing him back in HS. Can't recall exactly when that was, I'm pretty sure he's at least a couple of years younger than I am. I went to Acadiana, he was a Lafayette High but I had a quite a few friends there and when a guy is just so good, you really can't help but pull for him despite school rivalries.
I guess between the genetics and the work ethic of their parents, the kids were likely to excel in athletics.
Good for them and I assume LSU will also benefit.

That family is freakishly talented. I think the grandpa was a great pole vaulter

I see Armand Duplantis at Red's all the time. He just looks like a gangly teenager, never would guess he's a world class athlete

I still have no idea how anyone thought up of pole vaulting as a good idea

Sounds right, I know he moved to Lafayette right about the time he was in high school. I can't recall if it was right before or right after.
