File this under the "well duh" developments.

quote:

Said the Warriors in a statement: "[Thompson] will not return to the court until he is symptom-free and cleared under the NBA's concussion protocol guidelines. He will be evaluated daily and there is no timetable for his return."

At least they're appearing to be doing the right things now, though it took them a while.

Went to an independent neurologist today. Good thing.

I seriously doubt this keeps him out of any games.

No chance he misses any games. I hope he's cleared soon so this doesn't become a huge story people make a big deal out of.

Neurologist was probably like are y'all fricking serious? Got whacked in the head then headache, dizziness and vomited several times. What is your question?

There was some funny business going on to avoid the league-mandated concussion protocol. Warriors were likely "strongly advised" by the NBA to seek an independent opinion.

Well that remains to be seen. If the Warriors are managing his care exclusively, he'll be out there. An independent provider may very well keep him out. Post-concussive symptoms can linger for weeks, and the only effective remedy is cognitive rest. That means pretty much doing nothing.

Said it during the game thread and I'll repeat it here - that knee looked to be intentional. At the very least, Ariza wasn't trying to avoid him in the slightest...

Definitely. First Curry then Klay? Ariza is a giant piece of shite.

Wow. He probably should have air dodged like it was Super Smash Bros.

Ariza is a favorite for players around the league, and has never been accused of being dirty. He is caught in the air and has nowhere to go. Just an unfortunate play.

How's he going to avoid him? Change his trajectory in mid-air?

It is innocent. Of course in slow motion it looks like he had time to purposely throw his knee into his head, but in regular speed you can tell that he just got caught in the air.

You can't change your trajectory once in the air, and that play happened really fast.
