Can't win your conference?
Can't win your division?
Have a bye week!

Because Kirk listened to what the committee said unlike TD.com

A bye week is tough here. Now we have to wait 4 weeks to play. Teams get rusty with 4 weeks off time

I don't know if I'd enjoy the Ohio State is in melt or the Ohio State isn't in melt more.

Ohio state should definitely be in. Nobody on here will say it but Washington is in way over their head. They shouldn't be in the playoffs.

I always thought Herbstreit was pretty neutral... But the more Ohio state continues on the Urban train, it really feels like he is very biased towards his Alma mater. There is zero reason Ohio state should be an automatic.

And Washington
Really it's pretty clear cut

A lot of old grey haired men wearing long white socks in that committee room.

what was he saying on this night in 2014? When #3 TCU had won their game, but was a Co-Champ of the Big XII?
Was he saying that "its ok to drop a #3 team in favor of a conference champ like OSU?"

Well the committee did say the gap between OSU and PSU was pretty large.

As things change...they actually stay the same.
Legacy teams like Ohio State and Alabama can get in with one loss without a question, but when it becomes another team other than a legacy team, not going to the conference championship, no conference title is used against you.
To me, if you're an 11-1 team with a great resume that somehow didn't go to your conference championship, you should have a chance at going to the playoffs, but it needs to be CONCRETE for everyone.
It's not going to be.
It's the same as it was with the BCS. The legacy teams like Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma, USC, Notre Dame, and more are going to have the rules changed for them to get them to the title (or playoffs) if they are a good enough team.

Yeah, the committee has been laying the ground work for this exact scenario for a couple of weeks now. They've made it very clear that they feel Ohio State is way ahead of Penn State
Posted on 12/3/16 at 11:08 pm to hendersonshands
They are.
I think the last spot is between Washington and Penn State

On SC right now, Herbie has Bama, Clemson, OSU, and Penn State
