Kind of spinoff: What position would Charles Barkley have played in the NFL

I'm thinking he would have been a HoF level DE/OLB. Maybe one of the GOAT. He may have been one of those guys that changes the way the game is played.

If you're fast enough to lead an NBA fast break, you're fast enough to play any position in the NFL outside of maybe cornerback or speed receiver.

I don't think the physicality translates from sport to sport. He was a tough basketball player, but probably too soft for the NFL. The ability to take hits and recover is way underrated. Not even bringing into adjusting to playing in pads and helmets. Lots of guys just can't or don't want to do it. Take a guy like Frank Thomas that had the talent for both. He figured out baseball was better for him quick, even though he took flack for it initially..
