What I don't get is how do you get 8 more first place votes, yet show up on 16 less ballots?

I'm not saying Leonard doesn't deserve it because he is one of the top defenders that is normally on the best perimeter guy each night, but to have more than 100 voters for a yearly award is a little ridiculous. Let the coaches decide or something

After looking at the list of voters, they can easily cut that down to like 25-30. Also, I'm surprising Windhorst A.) Had the time to get out of LeBron's jock to make his picks and B.) Didn't select said LeBron as DPOY

Like I said, they should cut that list down to about 25-30 NATIONAL guys and let them vote. For the fact there votes casted like these:
quote:

Molly Sullivan Comcast SportsNet Duncan, Tim -- SA Jordan, DeAndre -- LAC Green, Draymond -- GS

quote:

Scott Lauer WFNZ-610AM Gobert, Rudy -- UTA Jordan, DeAndre -- LAC Kidd-Gilchrist, Michael -- CHA

quote:

Brendan Brown MSG Network Davis, Anthony -- NO Gobert, Rudy -- UTA Carroll, DeMarre -- ATL

quote:

Jody Genessy Deseret News Gobert, Rudy -- UTA Leonard, Kawhi -- SA Green, Draymond -- GS

quote:

Ron Tillery Memphis Commercial Appeal Allen, Tony -- MEM Duncan, Tim -- SA James, LeBron -- CLE

quote:

Jason Jackson Sun Sports Davis, Anthony -- NO Jordan, DeAndre -- LAC Noel, Nerlens -- PHI

quote:

Mike Rice Comcast SportsNet NW Jordan, DeAndre -- LAC Kidd-Gilchrist, Michael -- CHA Paul, Chris -- LAC

quote:

Antonio Harvey Fox Sports Radio/620AM Jordan, DeAndre -- LAC Davis, Anthony -- NO Whiteside, Hassan -- MIA

quote:

Bill Worrell Root Sports Southwest Green, Draymond -- GS Ariza, Trevor -- HOU Jordan, DeAndre -- LAC

Is just pathetic

Criticizing a voter for voting a Rocket third when he hasn't even been top 3 for Houston? Yeah. We are so horrible.

I love AD but I don't think he or Tim Duncan earned a first place vote.

this should have been Green's going away.

I'd like to hear his reasoning for Patrick Beverley.

He was very mediocre this year on defense. It was obvious he was playing through injury. No way in hell was he anything close to DPOY.

I don't mind Gobert getting votes if you look at the numbers he was easily the best rim protector this season. I was surprised he didn't get more votes.

Yeah. I think they voted him a year too early though. He will be much more deserving with a full year of starts.

It's not just that. It's the fact that most of those who voted Gobert, completely ignored the first and second place finishers. I think Gobert is a solid rim protector, it's just the thought process of some of these voters

Don't know why journalism, broadcasting, and English majors are allowed to vote for anything in any sport. The media should follow the happenings, not give their unqualified opinions.

I don't think the line should be drawn there. I respect the opinion of Zach Lowe over Mark Jackson. Also, Stacey King has three championships, but he still has horrible opinions clearly.

There needs to be stricter qualifications on who gets a vote. Like why does Matt Winer and Sage Steele get votes for being studio hosts?
