Oh so Steph gets dinged for the quality of his teammates just like Lebron gets dinged for joining super team. Fair enough IMO I don't have a problem with the consistency. Oh
What the frick are you talking about? I am devaluing his MVP awards not the titles. How can you justify being MVP, when a guy comes to your team and immediately it is his team because he is better than you.

Judging by the responses in this thread, will the Curry back to back MVP awards soon be looked at as the Steve Nash MVP awards?

I think he's caught up in unrealistic expectations, a down year by his standards, and his role change for his team with the addition of KD this year.

I also don't think the "product of the system" label follows him like it did/has Nash. Curry can still improve, IMO. And will be looked at as a better player than Nash when he finishes.

Not by me. They were both well deserved. It will be harder for him to get another one as long as kd is on his team, but I wouldn't rule it out completely.

His style is different than the others because he is less physical, but he can still dominate the league with his shooting and ability to penetrate and finish around the basket.

So Westbrook can't be the mvp either? What about Harden? KD was the best player on the team when they all played together.

I don't think playing with another great player makes prior or later mvps less valuable or relevant.

Harden?
Leonard is far better than Harden. Harden plays zero defense, which is essential to winning playoffs and championships. It is completely retarded for Harden to be in the conversation for MVP or top player. But Steve Nash won MVP without playing any defense.

Yes. LeBron should be MVP.

It is so stupid to me that Shaq has only 1 MVP and MJ only has 5

Lock down defender Steph Curry? Derrick Rose? Dirk Nowitski?

Defense has never been a priority in MVP voting. Even if it should be.

Can't even lead his team to a better record than the Celtics while playing in the east.

He's ahead of Curry, Westbrook, and Harden.

Only behind LeBron and Durant.

The past two years of Steph were definitely better than this years KL. He took a step back to help the transition for KD easier but that shouldn't be taken as he is overrated like some people like to claim

he averages 57.7 a game in Points+points off assist which if he finishes the season today that will be an NBA record

to say he should not be a MVP favorite is a joke

NEWSFLASH. The MVP isn't about who is the best player or who does best in the playoffs...

Newsflash part 2. We have access to stats that combine the two that shows harden overall Impact is greater.

During the regular season yes. Kawhi type guys are more valuable in the postseason when it matters.

He's taking more shots this year per game than he did two year ago. He is just missing a lot more. He is still an elite shooter, but he has fallen off his historic rate of the past two seasons. If anything he is taking more open looks this year and missing more on uncontested shots. He is having a bad year compared to what people have come to expect from 14-16. He is still an elite shooter and a top 5-10 player, but his numbers this year don't have him in the top 3 discussion or best player in the world discussion that the previous two seasons catapulted him to. Is he "overrated" as in a role player? He'll no. Is he "overrated" in the sense that he was considered a 1B or clear #2 best player in the world coming into this season? Yes.

1. LeBron
2. Kawhi

There is a gap between 1 and 2 and a gap between 2 and whoever one thinks should be #3.
