And the most overlooked stat is that he could win championships with multiple teams with different lineups - UCLA, the Bucks and the Lakers.

My only knock against Kareem is how mediocre his teams were without an elite PG leading the way. He had Oscar Robertson for his first five seasons in the NBA. After Robertson retired, the Bucks went 38-44 and missed the playoffs altogether. Kareem was traded to the Lakers the following season. In his first season with the Lakers, they went 40-42 and missed the playoffs. In Kareem's second season, the Lakers went 53-29 but got swept in the WCF. In Kareem's third season with the Lakers, they went 45-37 and lost in the first round. And in Kareem's fourth season in Los Angeles, the Lakers go 47-35 in a league with no dominant teams and lose in the second round of the playoffs. After that season, the Lakers draft Magic with the #1 overall pick and the rest as they say is history. But here's my question. Can anybody see LeBron or Jordan missing the playoffs twice and only making one conference final appearance in five seasons which are the absolute prime years (Ages 27-31) of their career? It would be unfathomable. So why does Kareem get a pass for those years?

Jabbar definitely has the accomplishments for top 3. But not number 1 in my opinion.

Read an interesting story recently how Jabbar was thisclose to signing with the ABA out of college but they low-balled him. Then ABA Commissioner George Mikan was supposed to give him a 1 million dollar check. It never happened and Jabbar signed with Milwaukee. Rest is history.

You realize that Kareem renounced Islam on his death bed, right?

Kareem is the GOAT player of all time taking into account his entire career.

He is the GOAT high school player at Power Memorial.

He is the GOAT college basketball player.

Man lost 4 games in 6 years, high school plus college.

He's not the GOAT pro but you combine his high school and college plus his awesome pro career...the man scored more points than anyone in history by far and he dominated at every level.

79-2 in high school; NY player of the year 3X. 71 game winning streak.

88-2 in College over 3 years as a starter (he couldn't play as a freshman but his freshman team beat the defending National Champ UCLA Varsity team in a live ref game.)

6x NBA champ

3X NCAA champ

6x NBA MVP

3x NCAA player of the year

3X Final Four MVP

10X NBA First team

19X All-Star

It's the craziest resume of all-time.

It's Paul Bunyan-esque.

IDGAF about their college accomplishments. Esp. when you played on those crazy Wooden UCLA teams.

Also using FG% when comparing a C to a SG blocks too

Dude, Kareem was UCLA before Walton.

They had an 81 game win streak... Kareem gets his cornea scratched, wears goggles, plays like shite in the Game of the Century at the Astrodome because he's half blind and loses by 2 points to Houston.

His eye heals, and then in the Semifinal of the NCAA tournament they beat #1 Houston in a rematch by about 40 points.

Dud UCLA was winning Championships before Walton got there.

UCLA was stacked. From basically 1962 or 1963, they had ONE season where they lost more than 5 games.

Like I already said, playing for UCLA in the golden years doesn't really mean much as an individual accomplishment for a player.

This is the probably the most deserving person to be brough up in a real argument against MJ for #1. PPL sleep on Kareem because he wasnt flashy and it has been awhile since he played.

No shite, they won them with Kareem.

And one in a fast break offense before him.

Wooden went 25 years before winning.

Kareem brought them the dynasty like I said.

You do know Kareem played before Walton, right?

I'm sorry, but this is just fricking stupid.

Kareem beat the UCLA champs as a freshman with the freshman team.

You're acting like a rantard.

The one game Kareem was hurt, they lost.

When he was healthy? they avenged that 2 point loss by about 40 points.

That's the difference of Kareem. He was the dynasty when he played and then Walton was. Kareem wasn't great because of UCLA, UCLA was great because of Kareem. Those teams weren't stacked, they had a few dominate players over 10 years and a great coach.

I'm retarded but you keep bringing up Walton in a thread that has nothing to do with him.
