Just saw some shite in the WCWS Final OU vs Fla

OU's starting pitcher goes 5 innings leaves the game at 2-1
Reliever comes in, blows the lead in the bot 7...game goes extras
she ends up going 6 2/3 and leaves the game in the Bot 12 leading 4-2 with runners on first and second, two outs...
This is where it takes a left turn, starting pitcher comes back out to record the last out
. Of course she blows it, game is now in 13th inning.

You can do the same in baseball. If you started the game in that position, you can return to that position later in the game. Baseball just doesn't do it with pitchers because it is to hard on the arm

Im pretty sure if you leave the game you cant come back
Now if you are the starting pitcher and slide over to 1b you can go back to pitching later.

Very enjoyable game, OU pulls it out in 17 innings 7-5. Tonight might be a slugfest since the top 4 pitchers shoulders have got to be sore. And in baseball there is no re-entry rule, when you come out you're out.

I think this is true for high school baseball, but not college and higher.

The OF was playing at the warning track on that play because of who was batting and didn't get there to make a clean catch... I don't think it was a "routine" pop fly because of the OF positioning.
Great game though... gotta give it to Florida for coming back twice... They tried to make it interesting in the 17th after the Knighten bomb.

Bases loaded with our best hitter at the plate.
Really all you could ask for and at that point, our pitching staff was gassed. It was gonna end there one way or another.
Amazed that UF came back strong twice on its last strike and even got to that point.
