Just imagine how great this series would be if this place were still around

As a lifelong hater of the Yankees, I came to respect the old girl... It was nothing short of magical for October baseball. When it was rocking deep in the playoffs, there was nowhere in sports like it. It was a true baseball theater.... And they fricking tore it down...

The new stadium is similar. I don't see how it would have any bearing on the series. You're just being nostalgic.

I watch the end of those 3 games of the 2001 world series in Yankee Stadium from time to time. The crowd is incredible. To top it off it's back when Fox was using the good old MLB on Fox theme which adds to it.

The new stadium is a shopping mall... The Disneyland of baseball... I've been to both and the new stadium doesn't hold a candle to the atmosphere of the old stadium. It's much, much wider and has a FAR more corporate, generic feel.

The old stadium was right on top of the players and the old metal finishings made it far louder, it was also immensely cheaper so a more rowdy crowd was there making for a far better atmosphere... Plus it had all the history...

I don't disagree with anything you're saying. I just don't think it matters much as far as this series goes.

I attended one Yankees game in my life and it was in the old stadium. It's a shame it's gone. One of the great stadiums of all time.

I'm a lifelong Yankees fan and hate it that I never got to see a game there.

I'll still never understand why they didn't just renovate the old stadium again. It was arguably the most iconic stadium in all of sports and so many historic moments were held there. Such a shame they tore it down and built a soulless Corporate mausoleum.

I’m looking forward to the new yankee stadium making its World Series debut

Indoor stadiums aren’t worthy

Fenway>New Yankee Stadium>Wrigley>Old Yankee Stadium

Been to all multiple times. Crowd at old Yankee Stadium =/= stadium itself. Old stadium was a dump. Not just old. A dump. Chunks of concrete gone from interior ramps, etc.

In other words, completely replacing it was pretty much a pointless destruction of incredible baseball history. Just dumb.

My first ever MLB game was Mike Scott vs Dwight Gooden at the Astrodome. Was awesome.

That wasn't the Astrodome's greatest moment.

This year's NFL theme music seems really out of place.
