Odds that ESPN doesn't credit TMZ at all, and act like Schefter or Mort broke the story?

no one has said that it isn't tragic. I'm not going to mourn over someone that I don't know at all.

That's you decision, but it's part of human cultures to mourn people you don't know personally. You're a football fan so you should know that junior seau epitomized what it means to be a football player. He was a role model to a lot of people, a father to three, and something drove him to take his own life. Those things should mean something.

Jokes are made at funerals but not about the death, especially if it's tragic. There's a huge difference.

ESPN just confirmed because ESPN doesn't report some rumors.

hmm, LA Times reporting he was shot in the head

quote:

Former USC and San Diego Chargers football star Junior Seau was found dead Wednesday of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head at his Oceanside home.

His girlfriend found him dead in his bed, according to law enforcement sources.

Good chance ESPN will credit the L.A. Times and not TMZ

A local newspaper has also reported that he's dead and got a quote from the mayor of the city who said that the chief of police told him about Seau's death. It seems pretty ironclad to me. LINK

I was being sarcastic. It was on the front page of freaking Yahoo but ESPN hadn't said anything because they don't report "rumors".

You weren't far off.
