I know this is an unpopular opinion

If I had to rank them as players, it would look like this: 1. Jordan 2. Lebron 3. Kobe

However, in a one on one showdown amongst them, the triangle theory comes into play:

Jordan beats Kobe
*Kobe beats Lebron
Lebron beats Jordan

*Kobe has some advantages against Lebron moreso than Jordan. Kobe was quicker than MJ on defense and had a more explosive first step (yeah, he did). He'd give Lebron fits.

Bob pettit would dominate all three. 90s basketball was softer than women's soccer compared to his day

I love LeBron, but he's the ultimate basketball player, not a 1v1 guy. His best traits are more team oriented rather than just scoring the rock.

None of them would be able to stop each other with no help.

1 on 1, with no backside help, they would all get destroyed. Which, by the way, is how MJ was allowed to play his entire career......

Durant wins head to head.

Westbrook loses but wins MVP.

Jordan beats Kobe <-- like you said, Kobe was the better defender so those two or three extra misses gives it to Kobe

*Kobe beats Lebron <-- twice on Sunday

Lebron beats Jordan <-- Jordan would trash talk him until he cried

...So Kobe

You do realize LeBron commands more doubles and help defense than the other 2 ever did, right?

I would have loved to have seen Magic vs Michael at Caesar's Palace in the early 90s. Would have changed the way people watched basketball forever.

Lebron would not beat either MJ or Kobe in 1-on-1. He's admittedly not a 1-on-1 player, while MJ and Kobe both made a career out of pooing on guys in 1-on-1 situations.

MJ has said in more than one interview (check YouTube) that Kobe could very well beat him in 1-on-1 because "he stole all my moves."

I'd still roll with MJ because he's bigger than Kobe and has those massive hands. Phil Jackson said Jordan's hand size is the biggest difference between MJ and Bean

ETA:

Great vid of MJ in 1999 embarrassing a young Chicago Bull

GOAT gonna GOAT

only liars and fools say either Jordan or Kobe could handle Lebron 1 on 1. Lebron is faster, bigger, and stronger than both and by a considerable margin.

Derrick rose at his peak was far faster than Kobe ever dreamed of being, and he couldn't shake Lebron even an inch.

Jordan would destroy Kobe for 2nd place. Jordan was stronger and tougher than Kobe. Jordan would be the best post up of the 3, but Lebron could easily back-down the other 2.

Kobe is the best 1 on 1 period.

That comes from players straight from the 2008 Olympic team.

Kobe left there stating it matter of factly as well. No one on the team disagreed. You know they went one on one a lot in practices too.

Kobe would smoke Jordan too. Kobe has too many moves (Sky hook, Dirks moves, Jordan's moves, magics moves, he can even do the freaking Dream Shake - he's the X-Man Rogue of the NBA) and can shoot with either hand.

Just compare their highlights from a shot difficulty/skill comparison in game.
