And disappointing on Spieth's part. Seems like he has a chance to do something better than peddle sugared water which we are increasingly finding out is really just a low-grade poison.

Your success and image also isn't partially dependent on individuals outside your control, like ownership, front office, coaching, etc. It's without a doubt the dream scenario as a pro athlete IMO

Well, yes, I'm jealous of anyone his age.

But he seems so perfectly positioned to do something truly exceptional with his life (other than win golf tournaments) - and his outward persona has seemed to hint that he wants to.

You do realize professional athletes are idolized more than any person in the world, right? Gotta hate a young Christian man playing the sport with class, making awareness for his disabled sister, and embracing his family while not getting caught up in all the temptations out there. Sure it could happen, but your spewing crap from the bowels truck stop toilet. Why don't you stop posting, you look like an ignorant fool.

Difference between pro golfers and pro anything else is if they have a bad day at the links, they don't get a paycheck. There income is solely dependent on their performance. So if a MLB pitchers signs a $200 million contract and goes out and has an ERA of 10, he still gets paid. If the golfer doesn't stay within the top 125 on the money list for the year, they don't retain their playing card and have to qualify all over again just to play golf. Only the top tier players get the great endorsing contracts, but their true salary comes from their ability to keep their PGA playing status.

I have always said, if I could be a professional golfer, I would want to be #25-30 on the list. No one knows who you are, you make roughly $2-3 million for the year, and you enjoy life without the celebrity status.

Just amazed that Coke even finds it beneficial to make deals of this size at this point.

Not knocking it for either side, I'm sure it's a fine partnership.

Another head scratcher from Coke's marketing gurus. Love JS, but he'll never cross into the mainstream like Tiger. Golf is still a fringe sport especially to coke's primary target, millennials.

The golf industry is actually in a fairly big downturn these days. Green fees are dropping and courses are closing.

That's retarded. These marketing morons think this is actually going to make people drink Coke?

If someone is going to get paid that kind of money, I'd much rather see Spieth get in than the thugs that play the other sports.
