LBJ fans are going to be really upset when they realize that once he isn't the most explosive player in the game he tanks...fast. Mj's game could survive losing a step. For the last half of his career he played "old man" ball. Angles, fakes, and jumpers. Lebron is the best in the world because he's bigger, faster, and stronger. Once this goes, he will most likely stop winning rings. LBJ finally won a ring last year because he realized this and stopped shooting jumpers in the finals.

In other words, Kobe is more like MJ...and believe it or not LBJ is more like Shaq. Dominant, but mainly because of athleticism.

The fact that "Is James better/comparable to Jordan?" is even a question, is a testament to LeBron's abilities and greatness. LBJ is hitting the beginning of his peak and isn't even finished with his career, and here we all sit debating "MJ vs LBJ". That in and of itself is enough to say how talented and great of a player James is.

I am NOT debating this. Its pretty simple. MJ>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bron. Its really not that close.

Wait are you literally retarded? You think when Lebron gets older he's going to be smaller and weaker? WTF he's not going to be turning fricking 80, he'll probably get bigger and stronger. I dk if you realize you just argued a huge point for Lebron here. He's already a better outside shooter at this point in his career than Jordan, he can get an open jumper whenever he likes as well. And his game is based so much less on speed and agility than Jordans was when he was younger. When Lebron gets older he's just going to start using his size even more and powering through people in the post, he's 6'9 260 for christ sakes, you think he's gonna shrink?!?!?!

Lol, no. He gets great looks because teams dare him to shoot so he won't dunk at will. If he lived off jumpers he wouldn't be anything special.

Yes, but without the insane speed larger defenders will be able to check him. Shaq declined rapidly because his game was based on agility and speed ALONG WITH size and power.

I didn't say he was a sharp shooter, MJ was a HORRIBLE shooter outside 18ft first half of his career

Yea but he's way quicker than Shaq, he won't be guarded by post players and will still be able to out power most of the gaurds

Bottom line...LBJ may develop a consistent offensive move that will allow him to prolong his career ala Kareem or MJ, but if you were to take his current game and remove his quickness no one would fear him. There are tons of guys in the league with his size and strength...what sets him apart is his quickness...just as it did for Shaq.

Ok yea but what makes you think he won't? The great ones always do. I honestly think Lebron will have an easier time doing it than MJ, although MJ did a phenomenal job, I just think the transition will be easier
Also, stop comparing Shaq and Lebron you're making no sense. Yes they both moved very well for their size, they're nowhere near the same type of player

He still has to pass Kobe.

How many rings does LBJ need in order to be a better basketball player than Kobe? This is stupid. He's better than Kobe Bryant at the game of basketball...period...IMO of course.

so what you think Jordan was a good outside shooter the first half of his career??
He developed into a really good outside shooter but not until he needed it. He was always good 15 ft and in but he was like 20% at the beginning of his career from 3.

Like I said I'm not saying Lebron is a great outside shooter, just that he's pretty good and for Jordan's first half of his career he was a pretty bad 3 point shooter

I can't believe I just read this. If there has ever been a player who could continue playing at a high level when he gets older its Lebron. I mean...WTF man?! He has every tool a basketball player could ever dream of. A slower less explosive version of himself would be an All-Star every single year. You don't think he'll be able to adapt his game when he gets older? Someone help me here...I'm not well versed in basketball lingo.

I'm not on the Lebron > MJ squad. Although I am on the Lebron >>>>>>>> Kobe team. But shite! Idk about you...but if I had to get a little weaker. A little slower. A little more sore. I'D WANT TO START THAT PROCESS FROM LEBRONS LEVEL OVER ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS EVER PLAYED.

Yikes.

IMO, what you are failing to realize is that he has the size of a power forward. If you've seen his post game the last couple of seasons, you can easily see that he can be a very good post player once his athleticism starts to diminish.

Over the last 4 years, factually(statistically), Lebron has been a better long range jump shooter(16-23 feet) than Carmelo, Kobe, and Durant.

Just saying...

Yes, but without the insane speed larger defenders will be able to check him

Wait. you don't think he'll still be wayyyyyy more athletic and at least equally as strong as power forwards? Are you talking about when he's 45 years old? I'm confused here.

If you take away his quickness, sure he wouldn't be as good.

But you are greatly undervaluing his skillset, like big time. He would still be pretty much the best low post PF in the game based on strength and his skillset in the post.
