Academically, the school is a complete joke. Fontainebleau was about 150 x's more challenging.

for anyone curious, Curtis passed DeSoto for #1 in the USA Today poll this week. However, Curtis is in the clubhouse and DeSoto has their state semi-final and final to go

LINK

apparently, at some point, DeSoto jumped Curtis in the rivals.com rankings.

That's right, man those were the good old days. Did you play on one of those teams?

when I was in 9th grade we played WM and lost like 28 to 7 in the Hap game

worked that one or the game before..... actually it was much closer than that.. more like 24-19.

but in the classic curtis went 0-2 shaw went 1-1 splitting w ECA and WM.. shaw curtis.

as for who won jamborees or scrimmages.. really... scrimmages

I saw a two time state champ get throttled by a 2 win team in a scrimmage....

I think Roth just doesn't want to play JCCS. I'm not saying he's scared...

lol wut?

Roth might not be scared, but what else are we supposed to infer when such a natural showdown and rivalry doesn't get played?

one reason schools from outside Nola don't like scheduling games with Nola schools.. is. the high number/chance of a thursday night game or worse a a saturday game...

How many fields are actually available, and how many teams use them?

All I can think of on the East Bank is Bertolino (playground at best), EJ, Pan Am, and Gormley. That's only 4 fields for at least 15 or 16 schools minimum off the top of my head.

My freshmen year we played Shaw in the Classic and lost by 2 I think. They stopped us on the 3yd line and again on the 1yd line with 2 stands and on another drive we fumbled on the 3 and lost it. They were a pretty good team, but felt like we let that on get away from us. After I graduated we were definitely overmatched against WM, they were good and we lost the State Championship to Salmen that year. The score to the WM game was 28-14 I believe.

When I say things its because I know them to be true, not just thinking of info and putting it on the screen. A John Curtis coach went up to Jay Roth after our game and asked, "When are we gonna get a game Coach"....Jay says, "Playing Curtis is just not something we do" Take that how you want it. FACT

I haven't talked to JT about it but I know for a fact other football coaches would like to play Rummel. And Curtis does have an honors program which is further advanced than the regular classes and is more like a college prep program. Curtis sends kids to Tulane, LSU, and other good schools just like any other school in the state. Also, JT likes to have a competitive football program, but the reason to stay in 4a and not 5a was because he had the numbers to play anyone in 5a in football, but the other sports would suffer badly because they just simply did not have the numbers available to field comparable teams. Imagine yourself head of a school and having to tell all but one group of kids, hey sorry but you'll just have to struggle because I want football to play in 5a. Speaking of that, how did Evangels other teams do while in 5a?

Other programs will suffer

Hahaaa there it is. I guess y'all really believe this.

All the boys programs draw kids that play football, it's quite a large talent pool.

JC softball would compete in 5a. Girls go there to play just like football

So that's a horrible excuse.
