Hard to find many real fans that are upset about the trade.

It's mostly the brainless housewives that latched onto Jimmy after Shockey left. Brees + offensive line = success. Brees + having to run for his life every pass down = the last three years.

Saints talk was absolutely brutal towards Graham last year. You don't know what you're talking about

Lol. The Saints front office put themselves in a position where they had to get rid of one of the most talented receiving TE's the NFL has ever seen.

Is that better?

How did we have to let him go? It actually cost us cap space this season

Yeah if there was ever a case of eating your own, that was a good example. I mean BRUTAL towards Jimmy. He was well hated long before he was traded.

But then again, ST has been brutal towards Brees at times. The second a player gets paid, the rantards come out the woodwork to hate on them.

Right, I don't go to Saints talk.

But I do live in the city. Go to bars for games and work with Saints fans. I see the Jerseys. I hear the fans.

I'm not using a board on this forum site as my only (or any) example. I couldn't give a shite less.

Eta: I don't use the rant to gauge Tiger fan opinions.

His blocking ability was being criticized everywhere last off season during the negotiations

Their offense will require him to block more, so the weakness gets amplified

The only upside is they didn't have to pay him what he wanted

That IS value.

We got 2 positions we desperately needed and saved a shite ton of money to help our future cap situation. I think both teams did well in the trade.

Unger is going to make a huge difference for us this year. It seems he's already got our OL playing more as a unit. Drew with time is like any other elite QB, he can throw it to anyone.

A top 5(or better) Center and a stud MLB isn't good value?

I still think he's a great player, potential HOF

But he's a toy in our offense. Center was a black hole, and Brees was just throwing it up to him when under heavy pressure

Unger + Spiller + Anthony + Watson + Hill makes it a good trade for the Saints. We have good TEs, freed up space to get a guy like Spiller and fixed 2 major holes

He's going to be a monster in Seattle this year. Period.

The butt hurt is so strong in this thread.

How you people justify/spin that losing JG is positive for the team are in such denial it's sad.

Whose your best receiving option??? Cooks???

I'll bet any amount of money that cooks doesn't play in all 16 games this year.

Could very well be the case.

How original

Yea, an actual offensive line is such a terrible thing. Hey how did the Saints do last year with Jimmy Graham? You sound like one of those sidewalk fans who only cares about skill positions. "Why did we spend our first round draft pick on a lineman?! We need flashy receivers !!!"

We won a Super Bowl with the a receiving/TE corps of Colston, Devery Henderson, Lance Moore, Jeremy Shockey, Robert Meachem. History shows we don't need a superstar to succeed. Drew Brees is a creator. He gets everyone involved. Our offense will put up numbers no matter what, especially given a stout offensive line.

And Cooks is a fricking stud.

So dropping his name is pretty stupid. we have pretty good TE's, decent and experienced big WRs, Cooks, and a great RB core which added Spiller as the change of pace/screen guy. We needed OL and we got a center that has our OL playing very well as a cohesive unit.

We also needed a MLB more than a fish needs water and we got one.

This trade will be good for both teams. Not sure how us saying that is what you call "butthurt". I have no doubt Jimmy will put up awesome numbers in Seattle. That doesn't mean we need him. We were abysmal last year with him and couldn't afford to fix our major holes and pay his salary.

This should be obvious to all parties. However, it upsets the haters to see that we aren't wallowing around in self pity lamenting the lost upcoming season.
