Former New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham said he expects to block more often since being traded to the Seattle Seahawks.

Asked by a reporter on Monday whether there were any differences in blocking for the Seahawks versus the Saints, Graham replied with a straight face, "Yeah, I'm blocking here," according to the Seattle Times.

"(In New Orleans) the last two years, I was pretty banged up, so midway through the year I kind of stopped blocking and I just routed people up," said Graham, according to the newspaper. "Now here I'm blocking quite a bit, and I love it. It's very important to me to be a part of that here. That's about 75 percent of the offense here. When you have a back like that, you want to be in there on those explosive runs, and you want to be a part of that."

I was at this casino minding my own business, and this guy came up to me and said, “You’re gonna have to move, you’re blocking a fire exit.” As though if there was a fire, I wasn’t gonna run. If you’re flammable and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit...unless you are a table...or a chair

Joel Corry ?@corryjoel · 3h3 hours ago
Saints threw more passes (1,310) over the last 2 years than Seahawks in the last 3 years (1,279). That's a big change for Jimmy Graham.

Paying a lot of money to a tight end that will be blocking more than receiving

Thats only 31 passes over 3 seasons. That is less than one per game.

no...Saints average 655 passes a year, Seahawks average 426. That is a hell of a lot more than 1 pass per game. It's more like 15 a game.

And the saints are paying a lot of money to a tight end not on their roster

I'm sure Graham will love blocking more than he goes out for passes. Let's see how he holds up physically since he was always hurt in New Orleans.
