Jim Harbaugh's spent enough time around the Obama family now to where he's willing to take a shot.

Michigan's head coach said Saturday during his annual quarterbacks camp in Ann Arbor that he plans making a formal offer to both Barack and Michelle Obama to be honorary football captains in 2017.

"We're making those asks, those official asks," Harbaugh said. "Yeah, we're in the process of making an official ask."

Harbaugh was in Washington D.C. last week to speak at a congressional hearing on behalf of Legal Services Corporation -- as Harbaugh serves as a member of the LSC's Leaders Council.

While in Washington, Harbaugh had a chance to speak with the Obamas briefly once again.

Harbaugh, of course, has worked with Michelle Obama in the past on an educational initiative. He's met the President and First Lady many times and has developed a relationship with both of them over the years.

"It was incredible. Spent 39 wonderful minutes with President Obama (last week), saw Mrs. Obama as well," he said. "He was great. He's relaxed, working on a lot of things. A book. He shared a lot of insights.

"It was a great learning experience."

Can't fault someone who appears to be a hustler for the program.

You wouldn't have any idea.

Presidents, before the one we have now at least, tended to treat the office and those who resided in it with respect and often friendship.

Do you want the multitudes of links I can provide where Obama blamed Bush for issues during his presidency?

Not only is he a good man, but he gets recruiting. One step ahead of the rest.

Just from a leadership/man of character standpoint, I wouldn't bring trump close to my young and impressionable young men

I just don't see anything positive from Obama's angle:

- He has no connection to U of M
- It's a state in which he's reasonably popular but the Democrats lost in 2016; politely decline, and he'll probably upset some folks within the state...
- Take the honorary captaincy, and he'll definitely piss off some people in states that are important to Dems right now (OH and PA, for starters)
- It's already a powerhouse program with a long history; it wouldn't look good to support the big dog against the little guy

If he were to do something like that, he should do it for a school that isn't terribly relevant and has kind of an underdog reputation and not connected either pro- or anti- to some very important states (think, Northwestern or Vanderbilt or something).

Man I'm already melting internally at the thought of it. You think they have Bruce Jenner in the booth during the event?
