quote:

After getting a pain-killing injection and X-rays, Romo got the all-clear from doctors. Jones went to Cowboys coach Jason Garrett on the sideline to give him an update.

“I told [Garrett] he’d be back if we needed. X-rays showed no fracture,” Jones said. “I told him [Romo] was dead set to come back out.”

Too bad there aren't at least 50 other people in the organization who could have communicated that information to Ivy League

Fire away cowboys haters.

In other words: Jerry told him Romo was coming back in.

Can't really blame it on Garrett at this point.

Why didn't Jerry tell Garrett that Demarco Murray was ok to receive handoffs?

The fact that Jerry thinks this was ok is exactly the problem here.

Exactly.

Things you won't ever see: Giants owner John Mara goes to the sideline to tell Coughlin that Eli is ok to return to the game.

<---- Cowboys fan

As this was happening, I was saying "frick you Jerry, get back in your box!"

I think Dallas had a better chance of winning with Weeden in.

When does the GM go anywhere near the HC during a game?

Did Dallas not see how well Weeden moved the chains and got a score?

If he threw an INT or fumbled, sure throw romo back in.

I don't trust jones to make the right decision...I think there is a very likely chance that room isn't ready for play but jones is going all in on this season...I've said all along that he's good at the talent evaluation part of the GM job, but sucks at everything else, and it's only a matter of time before he fricks everything up...right on cue

Things you will see though, is the GM like Loomis and others doing this. Jerry is the GM, so this isnt that unique or strange really

I guess that's part of the bigger problem.

Jerry wanted the story of Romo overcoming injury.

I get jerry is the gm, but this is precisely why I suspect the team trainers/doctors would not have cleared romo to return or even play next week

the call is jerry's and that's why he gave garrett the news because no one would stake their reputation on sending romo back in
