Adam Schefter? @AdamSchefter Cowboys TE Jason Witten has signed a four-year extension through 2021, per @toddarcher. May outlast Brady.

Witten will be 35 when the 2017 season starts.

The all time tight end reception record held by Tony Gonzalez could be in serious jeopardy imo

The game has passed him by. He should have considered retiring now imo. True competitor, but he is not much of a factor. Can get open, but rarely gets YAC.

He catches everything though... still a very valuable asset for a young QB like Prescott.....

He caught 65 balls last year from a QB he had zero chemistry with entering the season

He signed the deal to free up cap space for this season regardless.

I wouldn't say he isn't a factor, but I don't know how the dude hasn't needed knee surgery yet from the way he catches the ball. Gets the ball and immediately drops to the turf on his knees, no desire to make a single extra yard

I wish he would retire. The Giants have been playing him for what seems like 20 years and have never been able to cover him.

Really? You must not have watched him play the Bengals.
