He will be at his best wherever he goes, duh, but you should 100% have a preference if you are a human being and not a robot? Professionals work in order to make as much money as possible, that is the entire point, so he is being one by wanting to go to L.A..

You can't blame any player for wanting to play in Los Angeles for the greatest franchise in basketball.

the LA of the past is not the LA of current times, some stars do realize that as well.

The Lakers are never down for long. 12 years is the longest LA has went without a title since leaving Minneapolis

Woj (aka the guy who is being spoonfed info by everyone important) has said that Towns doesn't want to go to Minnesota.

I don't think this Okafor quote means much. It's basically a version of "I just want to give it my all, and the good lord willing, maybe we can win some games" or whatever Crash Davis was trying to teach Nuke

However, as fun as it might be to play with Wiggins, LaVine, and Rubio (who is one of the nicest guys in the league), I think everyone would rather play in LA with Kobe chucking shots and shouting at everyone, and Byron Scott coaching 1987 basketball, while James Dolan West runs his father's legacy into the ground.

And LA is such a great city if you're young and rich, that I completely understand it.

Agreed.... He better get into shape...ALOT of baby fat on him.. I think he gets abused no matter where he goes...........Way overated...Winslow is the best Duke player in the draft and its not that close......

By not wanting to be in Minnesota, he is the embodiment of a Laker already

Most professionals get a say in where they want to work.

I can't tell if there is sarcasm there

I guess if you wanna get yelled at by Kobe, Rondo and Thibodeau (I can't wait for this trainwreck) all season and still suck when Kobe gets hurt again, LA is the destination for you

I don't think this is a matter of humility as much as

Not being sarcastic.

The Lakers are a perfect combination of desirability for reasons not related to a player's fit with the franchise (Perfect weather, huge market, nightlife, a famous franchise that celebs love to bandwagon) and undesirability for purely basketball purposes (Coach who lives in the Stone Ages, idiot son of successful owner trying to forge his own path, over the hill star making the highest salary in the NBA and playing like he is still 29, generally useless supporting cast for now).

Are you basing this on championships?

Recent championships?

Image?

I'm not sure if this one isn't a little debatable ... though, Lakers should clearly be Top 2-3 on any sane person's list.

From a tax perspective ... wouldn't it be better to play for a TX or FL based team ?
